Ceres, Chiron, Great American eclipse, Jupiter, Mercury retrograde, Saturn, Saturn direct, Saturn retrograde, service to the collective, Solar Eclipse, stress, sun in Leo, Sun in Virgo, T- square, the wounded healer, Uranus, Vesta
The Great American eclipse is nearly here! Eclipse glasses have been all the rage this time but many people either miss knowing about them or failed to order any in advance of tomorrow’s event. I ordered mine back in March and am happy to say I am ready and hoping for clear skies. I won’t be traveling to an area of totality but I live in an area that will see a 95% eclipse and I am OK with that.
Those that are lucky enough to be in the path of totality may have a chance to see a huge bulge on the sun’s eastern limb. In recent weeks the Sun has been quite inactive. Scientist thought this might continue through the Lunar eclipse but in the past week, things have things changed. This increased activity has also increased the probability of earthquakes over and magnitude of six.
So far there have been two of those, an m6.7 on Thursday just north of Ascension Island and an M6.4 near Fiji. Yesterday, on August 19, there was a geomagnetic storm taking place along with significant x-ray solar flares. Expect planet Earth to respond ever more before, during or after the eclipse.
Earlier this week I posted a special report on the eclipse and if you didn’t get a chance to read it yet, you will get a lot of info about the eclipse’s impact there. This eclipse is sure to be a powerful one, full of fire and self-confidence thanks to all the Leo influence. We must remember that Mars, a fiery planet, and ruler of fiery Aries is also currently transiting the fire sign of Leo. Now that is a whole lot of fire going on!! Who knows what sizzling hot things might show up on the world stage this week.
The good news about all this fire energy is that it exudes a magnetic, self-confident, and strong-willed energy to leaders everywhere. But the shadow side of this Leo energy is that it can be bossy, controlling, resistant, and arrogant.
Uranus will be in trine aspect to the eclipse. We all know Uranus as the independent, progressive, and loves to see things change. Revolutionary is often the sort of change he brings. So if this eclipse is really going to impact this country the most, what could this trine aspect mean to us? I take this to mean that more change, revolutionary change is ahead. The Leo Pride characteristic could also impact the collective national pride and the position of the US in the world.
If possible, cancel any major event planned for today. It’s just not a good day for much except chilling’ out. Don’t’ schedule an event either. Of course, there will be some things that have to go on as planned and if this involves you, relax and just go with the flow. It will be alright.
But there is more to this week than the eclipse. Today, Sunday, August 20, the Sun in Leo is aspecting Chiron in Neptune. This can stimulate the healing of any shadow material that is holding you back. You know we all have some of that. Feeling a bit off or melancholy is to be expected. It is a good day to reflect, journal and meditate.
Monday, of course, is eclipse day. The Sun will also make a very close conjunction with the brightest star in the constellation of Leo, Regulus. This star is called the “heart of the lion”. This conjunction is asking us to look more closely into our own hearts and the divine aspect of unconditional love.
The shadow side of this is wounded side. We all have wounds from our past but when attention loving Leo is involved, as he is in this aspect, the shadow side will come out as a huge negative attention grab. You will notice this person by their narcissism and their battle to have the final word on any subject.
Tuesday, August 22, the sun enters Virgo. This transit is about our own health, serving others, and organizing. The shadow side is that we over extend ourselves and become drained energetically. Virgo energy, when properly used leaves us feeling great and ready to lend a hand another time.
Wednesday, August 23, the Vesta-Saturn-Neptune T-square peaks. This has to do with imagination, the physical world, and service to a higher cause. Gandhi said, “be the change you want to see”. That is the energy of this T- square. Take advantage of it today and become the change you want to see. This will probably serve you well the rest of the year and into the next.
Thursday, another T-square begins. This one involves Vesta, Saturn, and Chiron. Vesta is asking us to look at how we serve the collective. It does little for the individual but when we find satisfaction in serving the greater good, we feel good, don’t we?
Again, don’t get so wrapped up in stuff that you stress yourself out. Saturn and Chiron are square each other and in difficult aspect to Vesta. This can bring old wounds around service to the surface. Again….we all have those old wounds. Chiron is helping us with this and Saturn is lending us his wisdom to clear all these old wounds.
Thursday bring another T-square. This one involves Ceres, Jupiter, and Uranus.
This pattern peaks on September 12, just after Mercury is completely out of the storm on the 10th and ends on October 14, 2017. This is a good long period that could bring fast turnaround in our finances. Now before you get too excited, this could mean a turn for the worse.
Ceres, as I have talked about earlier this summer, is known as the grain goddess and represents result and good fortune. She can also represent sadness and loss. Jupiter will expand this energy and Uranus will bring quick change. This T- square is sure to be a double edged sword. I hope the side most of us see will the positive side.
Friday, August 25, Saturn turns direct after being retrograde for 4.5 months. Hopefully, we have been using the retrograde time to consider where we are on our path toward maturity, how well we are managing time, accomplishing our goals and moving into our later years as a wise elder. Sometimes I am feeling that last thing and sometimes I am feeling the naive child. I think lots of us struggle with this from time to time so if you are feeling this too, don’t let it get you down.
Saturday, Venus enters Leo. This transit will put the spotlight on appreciating our relationship partners. It will also give a big boost to our sense of beauty and fashion. The the best of all is that if there is something creative you have been wanting to show the public, this will be the time to do that.
Saturday the focus will be on learning and all forms of communication. This is due to a conjunction with the Sun and Mercury. Just remember that Mercury is still retrograde so there could also be some glitches in our communications, but for the most part, they should be fine today.
This concludes another week’s astro post. With what we saw last week and over the weekend in the news, I am sure this week will be very, very interesting. I’m stoked about the eclipse tomorrow even though I will only see it at 95%. I have my glasses ready. Hope you do too.
Until next week, remember to be kind and love one another.
