This week begins with a Full Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is my ascendant, making this Moon a strong one for me. For all of us, this is a great time for personal transformation and evolution. In general, all Scorpio Full Moons are good times for us to let go or make adjustments in the areas ruled by the eighth house.
The eight house is not only ruled Scorpio but by both Mars and Pluto as well. This makes for an intense mix that deals with death and rebirth, transformation, joint finances but not earned income. Whew!
This house does cover finances related to money lent or owed to others, taxes, bonuses, refunds, prizes gifts, commissions, royalties, credit, venture capital, and inheritances. The eighth house also rules sex, intimacy and physical love. Keep in mind the fifth house rules love and the seventh house rule relationships.
The eight house also rules our psychic, intuitive, and spiritual experiences. These things can also be related to the twelfth house. Lastly, the eighth house ruled endings, death, things we need to discard, and ultimately surgery.
Some of you might recall a discussion last fall about the chart I generated for my mother’s surgery in Oct. This took place on the very same day that Jupiter moved into Scorpio. Because of this, I expected surprises related to her operation. It took a long time to get all the details but I was right. The expected 2-hour surgery took 6 hours, the expected 2-hour recovery took about 6 hours, and her expected stay in rehab took several weeks longer. The good news is that the operation was a success and her recovery was great.
The skinny on this Full Moon in Scorpio is that for the next two weeks we have a great opportunity to work on and let go of things relating to the areas I have mentioned above. Let go, throw out, transform and welcome change. This energy it quite strong for all of us, not just those of us with strong Scorpio aspects in our charts.
There is another aspect that begins today. It is a T-square involving the Sun, Ceres, and Jupiter. The Sun is in the sign of money, Taurus. Ceres is the grain goddess and associated with harvest. Jupiter is the Great Benefic, full of surprise and good fortune. Note that all three of the bodies hold some aspect of money.
The T-square contains two squares and an opposition. All these are hard or difficult aspects. The could mean challenges regarding prosperity and abundance. This could also get things moving in a positive direction. So I am going to go for the upside and focus on the positive direction. Hopefully, if we all did this, pour money will begin to multiply. I hope you will join me and give a generous portion to help others too. There are many areas of the country and the world that our financial donations can make a real difference.
The planets in signs this week are as follows:
Sun in Taurus. There is a method to the madness. This is a sensual and receptive place for us. In this sign, we are at our best when we are standing up or taking a stand against something. Grand trineThis is the planting sign when new projects take root and our need for security and intent on goals are strong.
Mercury is in Aries. This, as with all things relating to Mercury, deals with communications. Aries can cause our communications to be more spontaneous, assertive and bold. This transit lasts until May 13, 2018.
Venus in Gemini. We want it all. We might seem to want it all. Variety is important to us now. This is a social, animated, and communicative while at the same time being somewhat emotionally distant. There is a strong mental aspect to Venus in Gemini which lasts through May 19, 2018.
Mars in Capricorn. This transit will last through May 16, 2018. This is relentless energy. We are forward thinking and drawn to think through the outcome of our actions while exuding a certain amount of coolness. The shadow side of this being inflexible.
Saturn in Capricorn. This transit is all about maturity and responsibility. It can slow things down for us or even block our ability to make a move.
Moving on, the most important aspect formations this week, after the Full Moon and the T-Square mentioned above, are Sun trine Saturn today. The theme of this aspect is grounding, common sense, reality, and responsibility. Our productivity can seem to take a siesta or a least move forward slowly.
Venus aspects Mars on Tuesday. Our relationships could experience a bit of tension. There could also be some conflict when trying to satisfying romantic and sexual needs. A certain competitiveness can arise but this could be rather thought-provoking and stimulating.
Tuesday, Venus also aspects Saturn. This aspect can amplify our sensitivity without our knowledge or understanding. Feelings of anxiety could show up as we attempt to express affection. Those with connections to these to planets or the signs Gemini and Capricorn might experience emotional distance or inhibitions in developing relationships or a social situation.
The last major aspect comes on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Mercury is inconjunct Jupiter. Expansive Jupiter can bring us some grand ideas and at the same time cause us to overestimate ourselves. Pay attention to details and try not to make a move without taking a close look at the consequences. We would all do well to avoid making promises we might not be able to keep.
This covers the major aspects of this week. I hope you are seeing some of the more positive characteristics coming to fruition in your life. I sure am. Please remember to be kind and smile. Sometimes this is easier said than done but doing our best is always worth the effort.
