I think the saying is true.
We are the ones we have been waiting for.
This past week the Universe brought us new, transformative energies and it is not over yet. It is up to us to decide how we are going to use this energy. Will we be using it for love, peace, compassion, and unity? Or, will we use it for greed, division, hate, and power? These are the questions every human is being asked. This week is going to bring more wonderful opportunities.
The December 7th New Moon was powerful. Jupiter was in a difficult square aspect to a Mars/Neptune conjunct and the conjunction was powerfully transformative all by its self. Jupiter’s energy magnifies things and this conjunction is no exception. You may have noticed more confusion, illusion, and difficulty concentrating ever since then. Unfortunately, Jupiter not only magnifies the good aspects of Mars and Neptune, but he also magnifies the negative ones too.
The good news is that this aspect is near the end of its influence but like all aspects, this one has triggered future changes. Before this square separated it left us either successfully using out intuition or conversely, sent us deeper down the tubes. Sometimes having the attitude of going with the flow (whatever will be will be) or as Byron Katie says: “Loving what is” takes more effort than some of us can gather up. Sometimes, either we or our soul decides it is just time to go.
I have been thinking about all the disappointments and losses people near and dear to me have experienced this past year and the many unnecessary losses we have all seen in the news. I was pondering this last night and concluded that one way to view this is with gratitude. A shocking perspective I know. What if the purpose of a souls incarnation into this life was meant to show us a better way, to serve as a light that exposes all the skeletons and dirt we’ve been hiding. What if a loss was meant to show us all the ugly stuff we’ve swept under the rug and ignored? Maybe the loss was more about teaching us about compassion and love? I can’t be sure. I’m just sharing some thoughts.
The big event this week is the Winter Solstice on Friday, December 21 at 5:23 pm EST. Winter Solstice is also the shortest day of the year, the first day of Winter and marks the beginning of last quarter of the astrological year. Friday is also the day the Sun leaves Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn until January 20, 2019.
The Capricorn Sun is all about responsibility, ambition, respect for the rules, law, and government. Capricorn loves real results and we feel best when we complete and accomplish things. Capricorn energy knows how to work with boundaries and enjoys setting long-term goals. This sign is ruled by Saturn, the head for the department of rules and regulations. Saturn is currently transiting Capricorn and this makes him very happy and feeling his best. Pluto is also transiting Capricorn. These two will begin to move in and out of conjunction for most of the coming year before perfecting their conjunction in January 2020. You can bet that we will be feeling the effects of this energy long before 2020. If you think secrets have surfaced in the past week or so, I am betting the Saturn/Pluto conjunction will bring us much more. More on this as time passes.
Mercury moved into Sagittarius last week. This will shift our thinking from the depths of our psyche to an optimistic outlook. We will be less interested in persuading others and more interested in what is fair or unfair. I’d call this a good thing!
The very next day after Winter Solstice we have a Cancer Full Moon. The Sun will have just enter Capricorn and be very powerful with that energy. This polarity is about our balance between our work and our home. I think we all know how difficult this balance can be sometimes but when we can’t find a good balance between the two, we almost always get into trouble and feel burdened.
Venus will take the spotlight this week with more aspects than any other planets so she will be a big influence for us. She is halfway through her tour of Scorpio this week and will continue to be a big influence the following week as well and her Scorpio expression is obsessive. This is fire-cracker-hot, gotta have it kind of love. The shadow side is jealousy and possessiveness.
Venus us sextile Saturn 12/15-12/16, 2018. Our relationships feel stable. Feeling are formal, expressed with reserve, and not freely shared. Think of the reserve of the British or the Royal family and this is Venus and Saturn. Any relationships that begin under this energy will likely be practical and businesslike. I dated a guy once who said he viewed his relationships as a business relationship and his friendships to be his confidants. For me, that was pretty much the end.
Wednesday and Thursday, Venus aspects Chiron. This is not a good aspect for making commitments. We can’t force affection now and there is a distinct lack of desire to give of ourselves.
Thurs and Friday, Venus is in trine aspect to Neptune. This easy aspect makes us feel as if a romantic situation was made just for us. Neptune creates a lovely, magical feeling and we are able to see the good in others.
Venus energy is looking good into the last week of the year too. She will conjunct Ceres. This will be supportive, nurturing energy. There is a possibility of taking things a bit to far, so be careful not to mess us a good thing.
Right before the New Year, Venus will create some powerful romantic and sexual energy. If you are single you might just meet someone at a holiday party. This energy has strong powers of attraction.
If you are a regular reader of this blog you know that every week I end with saying “ be kind. . .” This week I leave you with something different. The author is unknown but a friend posted on her Facebook page. I felt strongly that I needed to share this with you all today.
As the world fights to figure this all out, I’ll be letting people cut in front of me in traffic, saying good morning, keeping babies entertained in grocery lines, stopping to talk to someone who looks lonely, tipping generously, calling you by the name on your tag, waving at police, sharing food, giving children a thumbs-up, being patient and friendly to sales clerks and smiling at passersby as often as I have the opportunity, buying a total stranger a cup of coffee.
I will not stand idly by and live in a world where unconditional love is invisible. Join me in showing love, judging less. Find your own way to swing the pendulum in the direction of love. Be kind to a stranger today and every day. It just may be a friend you have never met. Pay it forward for any kindness shown to you in the past.
Be the change.
Be the light.
Be the love.
