Remember when you were younger and 2019 seemed so very far away? It’s not now!
Happy New Year to all of you! I hope the past year has been good for you and maybe, just maybe you found this blog helpful in some way. Thanks for reading and I hope to be of service to you in the coming year as well.
The past year has been one of transformation and evolution for many, including me. 2018 was both wonderful and personally challenging. It’s all good. All is well. New experiences and learning have transformed and supported my evolution as a human. I am grateful beyond measure for the support of dear friends near and far, and a couple of wonderful neighbors.
Now we are at the beginning of a new year and we are all wondering what it will bring us. Will we be successful? Happy? Healthy? Find true love? A great deal will depend on your perspective.
The past few months, I have had a gut feeling that we are headed for some financial changes in ways that we might not expect or be ready for. Recently the stock market has been anything but stable. It is too soon to know if this will continue or how it will unfold. As I gaze through the lens of astrology, I see our old and constant friend ‘change’ staring back at me.
I think in the next two-three years we are going to see shifts like never before as the old paradigm struggles to maintain control and yet is forced to give way to the rise in the vibration of the Earth and all her creatures. Things are going to be interesting for sure. My best advice is not to go nuts with your spending. Also, keep in mind I am not a professional.
The big players in 2019 will be Uranus, Jupiter, and Mercury. I will also add Pluto to that mix, although he will play only a minor part until 2020 when his presence will be felt more as he forms a tight conjunction to Saturn in January of 2020. Pluto and Saturn will begin to dance within three degrees of each other in early April – mid-May of 2019 and while this won’t be a strong influence, we will begin to feel things begin to really change in the collective. Keep your focus on joy, avoid control issues, and be as flexible as possible.
Control freaks are not going to like this one. Saturn is all about control, rules, and regulations. Pluto is about taking down what no longer serves and building new and better. Historically when these two planets conjunct, the conjunction has triggered a change that coincided with some big global event such as World War 1, the worldwide recession of 1947 and the beginning of the cold war, and the economic dive of 1982.
No doubt the Saturn-conjunct-Pluto event will bring change, but so will Uranus, Jupiter, and Mercury. Let’s talk about Mercury first. Besides the usual retrogrades which this year will be March 5-28, July7-31, and October 31-November 20 (mark your calendars), Mercury will have a rare “Transit of Mercury.” This is when Mercury crosses the face of the Sun. This will happen in November, and if you miss it, you get another chance to see it until 2032.
Jupiter is happily situated in his home sign of Sagittarius for the entire year. He is also square to Neptune in Pisces for much of the year. And thanks to retrogrades, there will be three perfect squares in January, June, and September. The last time this happened was in 2006. During this time many illusive things came to light.
The key words for this aspect are arrogance, overconfidence, short shortsightedness, and the belief that something or someone is right and too golden to get caught. Remember when the corruption of Enron came to light, or crocodile hunter Steve Irwin’s death? Steve had an illusion of overconfidence and it resulted in his untimely death.
I wonder what illusions will come to light this year. Time will tell but I feel sure many of us have our own ideas of what might happen. One thing is for sure, Jupiter will be giving us all he has to give, like it or not.
The big player this year is probably the rebel planet and master of sudden change, Uranus. He has been retrograde since August 7, 2018, and will turn direct January 6, 2019. He moved into Taurus last May and then retrograded back into Aries to give us a chance to tie up the last bits of unfinished Uranus/Aries business. In March he will re-enter Taurus where he will stay for the next seven years. If you still don’t get that change is coming, let me help clear that up.
So we know Uranus is about change, rebellion, intuition, revolution, unconventional, and the weather. Taurus is an earth sign, loves security, is practical, patient, reliable, and stubborn. Much of our security whether it is personal or national is directly related to money, financial institutions, and the global economy. This seems to spell change in the way exchange money. Will crypto-currency take hold? Will we finally see chips take the place of credit and debit cards? How will banking change? We are on a seven-year plan of Uranian change.
Let’s not forget the weather possibilities. The world is so connected now by the media and that makes us more aware of what is going on weather-wise across the globe. I think we can all agree that weather in the past few years has seemed to be more dramatic and disastrous than we have had in the past. Sure, we’ve had huge, disastrous weather in our history but it seems as if bad weather is becoming the norm.
Prophecy talks about a time when the seasons won’t be recognizable. I wonder if we aren’t getting close to that time. Farmers I know are talking about how the growing seasons have changed in recent years and I am seeing more and more articles about food shortages for one reason or another. Other articles talk about the future of farming being indoors or in greenhouses because the weather will affect the growing season to the extent that growing on the land will become more and more difficult. Again, we are in a seven-year cycle of Uranus (quick change) in Taurus (earth).
Supporting all that I have mentioned so far is the Nodes of fate. The nodes moved into the Cancer/Capricorn axis on November 7, 2018. They will remain in these signs until the last day of May 2020. The North Node represents where we are going and the South Node presents our past. With the South Node in Capricorn, we are letting go of the stiffness that is Capricorn and embracing all the nurturing, gentle, loving aspects of Cancer. Perhaps this is furthering the rise of the divine feminine and ushering in the return of the Christed energy or what some of us know as the ascension. It is definitely helping us raise our vibrations.
Now let’s go over what we can expect this week. Mars enters his ruling sign of Aries on New Years Day. What a shift from Pisces energy to Aries energy! Perhaps better news is that Mars will not go retrograde at all in 2019 and neither will Venus. Both male and female energies will be at full throttle this year and asking us to partner with something or someone. This can even mean a partnership with self that will help us reach our goals.
Midweek the Sun conjuncts Saturn. This is asking us to set boundaries, make choices, make your New Year’s resolutions and figure out what we want to set our intentions on. Saturn is known to block or hold us back and this is certainly counter to the forward movement of Mars
This conjunction is letting us know there is more to do and more to see before we move on. Eventually, we will be able to soar forward with Mars.
This year practically begins with eclipse and New Moon energy. January 5 marks a partial Solar eclipse at 15 degrees Capricorn. If you have planets at 15 degrees of any sign you will be affected by this is some way. Eclipses are known to bring big energy and get things moving. This one is somewhat tempered by the close proximity of Vega, a harmonious fixed star. This will help lighten the serious conservatism of Saturn’s conjunct influence. This is a good time to start a business or for artistic and musical endeavors. Charitable, humanitarian, and other acts of kindness are also going to get a boost with this eclipse. Not so bad huh?
I feel like I have given you a lot to digest this week but before I close I want to wish you a very Happy New Year!
Last Friday a friend asked me if I had any intentions for the new year. I said nothing other than peace and love. . . well actually, my answer was “peace, love, and tight britches.” That is a throwback to the 70’s. But seriously, I gave up the idea of resolutions years ago. Peace and love are all I want. I’ll take good health good times and good friendships too, but peace and love pretty much cover it for me.
This past year and the past two weekends, in particular, have shown me that I have more peace and feel more love when I put aside the phone and shut off the computer. I would not even be on it today if I wasn’t writing this for you. This is quite a reclusive shift for someone that used to be a social butterfly. All things change, don’t they?
My wish for you is the same. May you find peace and love wherever you go. If you plan to party or travel for New Years, be safe and responsible. I want to see you all here next week.
I’m headed over to an astrology webinar that starts in 20 minutes. Maybe I will learn some cool stuff that I can share with you next week.
Don’t forget to be kind and smile to all you meet.
