This week the big news is all about the Moon!
The Moon is full this week, in Aquarius, the second Full Moon this month also known as a Blue Moon, and is a Supermoon. What is is not, is as close to the Earth as the Full Moon on January 1-2, 2018. This Full moon is still sure to dazzle and be worthy of your cameras even though it has moved a bit away from Earth since the last Full Moon.
This Full Moon energy is greatly expanded by the addition of a lunar eclipse. This eclipse will best be seen along the ring of fire in the eastern Pacific, Australia, Russia, and Alaska. While it won’t be seen well in the US, its energy will be felt. That energy will relate to relationships and lack.
This eclipse could trigger changes in our relationships with others. It could bring people together or end relationships. It depends on what is needed. This eclipse could also deal with work, health, and our relationship to our bodies. Eclipses always bring in a cycle of change as we focus more on what we want to manifest in our lives. Remember, with every ending, there is also a new beginning.
If your birthday is on or near the 31st of January, Aquarius is strong in your chart, or planets at or near 11 degrees Aquarius, you will likely be the most affected by the eclipse in 2018. However, the change is not limited to this group and will apply to all of us in some way or another. The intensity might not be as great as with those whose birthday’s are near the eclipse.
Otherwise, in the current chart, there are five planets in Capricorn and Aquarius ruled by Saturn. This includes the planet Saturn. That is a lot of authority, rules, and regulations.
The Sun in Aquarius represents us as individuals. During this transit, we are eager for knowledge, uniqueness, invention. We are more open to new ways of doing things. We are eager to shed the restrictions and structure that Capricorn put on us. Freedom and individuality are what drives us now.
Mercury will be joining the Sun in Aquarius on Wednesday. Our thoughts are will be more outside the box and objective than they were while Mercury was in Capricorn. This is transit for more creative thinking but it could also be a bit more fragmented and a bit ADD than we might like.
Venus moved into Aquarius on January 17, 2018. This love and social relationships on our own terms. Some of us will desire to be both friends and lovers during this transit. Others will only dream about daring to be. Freedom of expression, being unselfish and being fair with others are what moves Venus and us now. Enjoy this transit.
Mars has just entered Sagittarius. This is a restless transit for Mars and we feel it most when life becomes routine or restricts us somehow. We might also set our sights a bit too high and then not be able to finish that project we were so excited to start.

One thing I noticed this week is how often my disaster app on my phone alerted me to an earthquake. I think I have mentioned in an earlier post and certainly in conversations with a friend lately that I feel like we will see more earth related disasters this spring and early summer. Now I am rethinking this and feel like this shift has already begun. This shift I am talking about it Uranus shift into Taurus.
I forget how slow Uranus moves so it is natural that we might begin to feel this now as the planet that rules electricity and weather moves into the later degrees of Aries. Right now it is at 26 degrees. My intuition is telling me that since we are seeing an increase in earthquake activity this could increase over the next 3-4 months. If you would like to keep up with this as well there are some great apps for smartphones.
One app I have used for years on my computer is Earthquake 3-D. They also have a smartphone app that is good and easy to use. Check it out here:
The app the sends alerts to my phone is Disaster Prediction App. Here is the link for Apple:

In aspects this week, Monday Mercury is semi-square Neptune. This can cause some brain fog and promote daydreaming. I can’t say that is a bad thing but it can get in the way of being as productive as we might like. This is not the best day for making a formal agreement or asking for what you want. Leave these things for a later day in the week, or a later week since the eclipses are coming.
Tuesday the Sun is semi-square Chiron. Chiron is about lessons and healing. During this aspect, we have a strong desire to learn from our experiences and through others. Someone might be looking to you to learn something from. The only problem with any of this is our lacking confidence. Why are we sometimes so afraid to be let our light shine and be different? Step out there and trust your instincts.
Friday Venus is semi-square Saturn. This could bring on some trouble when it comes to relating to those around us. Saturn cools down affections and causes some emotional distance. This is not a good time for things relating to finances. We might end up losing more than we bargained for. We might also be disappointed in matters of the heart or not feel very confident when it comes to social events. This is an aspect best used for reflection and meditation.
Saturday there are two aspects to consider. The first is Mars semi-square Pluto. (Semi-squares seem to be the theme this week.) This aspect can cause us to feel strongly about what we want and make it difficult to feel satisfied. Some of us might even resort to bullying when that is not our usual way of being. It will be important to remain flexible and work on new strategies for making our goals a reality.
The second aspect to look at Saturday is Mercury sextile Mars. Mercury is about being sharp mentally. This aspect will make quick decisions easy. It is a good day for being productive and turning our thoughts into a project that works. Now that you know this you might want to begin thinking about a new project now.
I hope you greet this week with enthusiasm and a smile. Look for the opportunities that show up. You might be surprised where they show up.
Don’t forget to be kind to all you meet. A smile goes a long way.
