Last week was rather calm astrologically and I hope you enjoyed it. Now we are headed toward change. The next few weeks will be full of change. The big news this week is Jupiter’s opposition to Uranus and the North Node of the Moon moving in to Libra.
Mercury is still retrograde. Hope you are re-doing things and recreating things. Uranus and Pluto remain in square aspect, and Mars is square Venus. Oh Boy!
Mercury will be going direct on Thursday but the planet won’t be back to full speed until after March 8th. His being in happy-go-lucky Aquarius has probably helped you deal with whatever has gone haywire in your world during this time.
You have probably noticed that some things in our world seem to be taking a step or two backwards. All I can say is hold on to your hats cause there is more to come. This brings me to talk about the North Node of the Moon.
The Nodes are physical points in the orbit of the moon. Points where the moon crosses north or south of the elliptical. The nodes always travel retrograde through the zodiac and are not direct very often or for long periods of time. It takes them about a year and a half to travel through one sign.
The North Node of the Moon is also called the head of the Dragon and the South Node is known as the tail of the dragon. The Dragon’s head is believed to deal with our future and our soul’s evolution. This is we don’t know what the future holds; this is path of the unknown. For the past year this unknown has been traveling in Scorpio, the sign of the underworld, death, secrets, and even hell. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto who has been in Capricorn during this time. This has been triggering our finances and security. `It corresponds to the root chakra and is thought to represent the death of the separate self. No wonder there is so much being discovered about our connection to the Universe and to each other.
These aspects and energies have created some pretty dense energy and lots of passion. Remember passion has a dark side too and think about the crimes of “passion” you’ve hears about. Now the node has moved into Libra and Libra is ruled by Venus. Love and beauty with Libra’s harmony and balance who could ask for anything more? This will last until November of 2015. Now we can take a breath and get out of the dark depths and into the light of day and talk about things. We don’t have to feel powerless or out of control anymore. Now we can feel more conscious, balanced, at peace and connected to the mother and the earth.
The South Node has been in Taurus for the same period of time. Taurus is earthy and self sufficient. This has led some to seek more solitude and a deeper connection with the self and the world around them. I notice more people giving up relationships that no longer serve as they seek ones on a deeper level than ever before or enjoy their solitude. This South Node has moved into Aries a fires sign. Expect sparks to fly as Venus pairs us up more and more.
Now let’s get to the big news and the Jupiter/ Uranus opposition.
Back in January, at the very beginning of the year I mentioned the Cardinal Grand Cross. The Jupiter Uranus opposition is leading us to this Grand Cross. This aspect has been creeping in on us for a few weeks and will remain with us in its exact form for another nine weeks. Nine Weeks? YIKES!
Jupiter is stationing to go direct on the 6th. When Jupiter changes directions he triggers our shift to the next level. This has resulted in a lot of folks actually leaving this plane of existence in recent weeks. If you have not seen this in your own life I am sure you have seen it in the news. We lost quite a few well known folks in the past couple of weeks.
Jupiter is the planet of surprise. Uranus is quick change. Expect the unexpected while these two are opposite. Predictability is out. You’ve probably heard the phrase “what doesn’t’ kill us, makes us stronger”. This opposition could be sort of like that.
The week seems to end with a lot going on. Not only will have a New Moon and Mercury turning direct, Mars will also be turning retrograde for three months. Another period to redo, recreate and renew.
The following day, Saturn turns retrograde for four months. These two retrogrades actually overshadow the new beginnings of the New Moon. This is true with Mars especially. He is the kick starter of the Zodiac. He gets the other planets into action. That is the best reason I know of not to start anything new. Should to really have to start something new in the next few weeks, be sure to stop, take a deep breath and take a good long look at things before you do. You will want to make sure you cover all bases, read all the fine print 3-4 times and cross all T’s and dot all I’s before you move on anything.
That being said……….. I wish all a great week and I will see you on the flip side.
